Black Scholars COVID-19 UPDATE!
Greetings,
The Urban League of Flint is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy experience for the graduating seniors and helping our community to do the same. We want to share with you the actions we are taking to help protect our scholars, parents and community at-large.
News of the COVID-19 pandemic is everywhere and impacting our city, our country and the world as a whole. A top priority for Urban League Flint Salute to Black Scholars remains the safety of the scholars and participants. We want to continue to prepare for an amazing experience the best way possible and feel that the changes made will best serve everyone. We will continue to make adjustments accordingly.
We encourage you to continue to practice and follow all Executive Orders from Governor Whitmer’s Office regarding the “Stay Home. Stay Safe” social distancing restrictions placed on our state.
For 37 consecutive years, we have provided a public opportunity for high achieving African American graduating seniors to be recognized for their academic accomplishments. Unfortunately, we have cancelled this year’s 38th Annual Salute to Black Scholars that was originally scheduled for May 2020.
Please make a note of the following changes as they are effective immediately.
WITH THE BEST INTERST OF THE 2020 GRADUATES IN MIND
38th Annual Salute to Black Scholars has been cancelled and will not take place this year.
AND
***Scholarship Application deadline is extended through May 18, 2020 @ 5 p.m. ***. As a reminder, the following documents need to be received as a part of the application for scholarship consideration:
